Ready to get out and about again for 2022? The White Horse and Griffin team has pulled together the best North Yorkshire events to look forward to this winter. Whether you’re a retro rocker or a chilled-out stargazer, there’s something for you.
Scarborough Stories – February 5
We love a good creative writing event here at The White Horse and Griffin. Just down the road from us in Scarborough is Scarborough Stories on February 5. This creative writing workshop for all skill levels and experiences will pair team and individual exercises. Fetch your quill and head down to Scarborough Library from 10:30am.
Dark Skies Festival – from February 18
Back for its seventh year, the Dark Skies festival returns to Dalby Forest for three weeks of stargazing, coastal walks and exhibitions. Take in the solar system from Dalby Forest or see the sights, from Robin Hood’s Bay to North Yorkshire’s famous ‘White Horse’.
Rock the 80s – February 22
We all need an excuse to let our hair down at the moment – and the bigger, the better! Rock the 80s features the Remarkable Rock Choir, who will take you through an 80s back catalogue of Bon Jovi, Kenny Loggins, Queen, Madness and more. Join in the fun at the YMCA Theatre in Scarborough from 7:30pm.
An Afternoon with Ricky Hatton – March 6
Fancy yourself a bit of a boxing fan? Go behind the scenes with An Afternoon with Ricky Hatton, hosted by comedian Jed Stone. This no-holds-barred interview will look back at the key moments in Ricky’s career. There’s even the chance to get your photo taken with the man himself. Catch up with Ricky at The Met Lounge and Ballroom, Whitby, from 1pm.
Jason Manford – March 24
If you need a bit of a giggle this spring, make sure you don’t miss Jason Manford. The Mancunian comedian will follow up on his Muddle Class tour with the Like Me show, promising a laugh a minute. You can catch Jason live at The Grand Hall, Scarborough Spa, from 7pm on March 24.
Refuel at the White Horse and Griffin
Whether you’re done stargazing, laughing or rocking, our doors are always open here at the White Horse and Griffin. Why not book a night away and indulge in a little local cuisine on the North Yorkshire coastline?
We look forward to welcoming you this season!
